
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, commended the Faculty of Engineering for organizing a seminar on energy and water conservation, emphasizing that raising awareness about the optimal use of resources is both a national and academic responsibility.
The seminar, titled “Towards Optimal Use and Conservation of Energy and Water,” brought together faculty members, students, and administrative staff. Prof. Dr. Taha Ibrahim Farag, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, highlighted that conserving resources is not only a developmental challenge but also a key pillar for achieving sustainability.
During the event, Dr. Heba El-Sayed Galal delivered an insightful lecture on the economic perspective of resource conservation, emphasizing the importance of managing non-renewable resources. Eng. Ehab Abdel-Hamid Amin El-Sabaa, Director of the Land and Water Department at Port Said Directorate of Agriculture, reviewed various energy and water sources, along with practical methods for their conservation.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed Gad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr Wafaa Shaaban, Head of the Department of Physics and Engineering Mathematics, expressed their appreciation to the speakers for their valuable contributions.
In his closing remarks, the University President stressed that rationalizing energy and water consumption is no longer optional, but a national necessity. He called on students to act as ambassadors of awareness within their communities, affirming the university’s continued support for sustainability initiatives and responsible resource management.
