
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, announced a new international achievement as the university advanced 63 places in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report 2026–2027 rankings, moving from 884th to 821st globally and securing its place among the top 15 Egyptian universities.
This remarkable progress reflects the university’s continuous efforts to enhance academic excellence, strengthen international cooperation, and expand global research partnerships with leading universities and institutions worldwide.
According to the rankings issued by Clarivate, the number of Egyptian universities included increased from 19 in 2023 to 29 in the 2026 edition, while the number of Egyptian universities ranked among the world’s top 1000 rose from 22 to 24.
The ranking evaluates universities based on:
• Academic Reputation – 25%
• Research Output – 15%
• Research Impact – 50%
• International Collaboration – 10%
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that this achievement comes despite the global decline in research productivity, highlighting Port Said University’s significant improvement across all ranking indicators compared to the previous year.
The university president also extended his appreciation to Prof. Dr. Saleh Zaramba, Dr. Heba Suleiman, Dr. Amer Shehata, and all ranking teams across the university faculties for their dedicated efforts in achieving this distinguished international recognition.
