Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, held an extensive meeting with leaders and members of the University’s Health Sector, as part of his periodic meetings with the University’s three sectors, to discuss academic, research, and health service development during the coming phase.
The University President emphasized that the Health Sector is a key driver of societal progress, highlighting its scientific expertise and vital health services. He stressed the importance of directing research toward real societal health needs, particularly in the Suez Canal region, while supporting applied and multidisciplinary research.
The meeting also addressed the achievements of the past year and a half in the University’s financial and administrative development and restructuring, alongside plans to enhance sector performance, support young researchers, promote distinguished international publication, and improve the University’s international ranking indicators.
Prof.Dr. Sherif Saleh also emphasized international academic mobility, scholarships, and stronger coordination between the Health Sector’s colleges, the International Relations Office, and the Ranking Team, ensuring that international objectives are translated into measurable action plans.
He further stressed the importance of internationalizing medical and health education and transforming agreements and MoUs into tangible research projects, academic and student exchange programs, innovation initiatives, and knowledge-transfer opportunities, while strengthening cooperation with hospitals, health institutions, research bodies, the private sector, and civil society.
Concluding the meeting, the University President affirmed that the next phase requires a shift from implementing plans to creating impact, from traditional research to applied research, and from international agreements to genuine partnerships and projects—linking education with research, research with societal needs, and international cooperation with tangible impact.
