
As part of the celebrations marking the 69th Victory Day, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, joined Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, in launching the International Arts and Peace Festival at the Port Said Cultural Center, under the patronage of Port Said Governorate and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The festival highlights Port Said’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic activities and promoting the arts as a form of soft power that spreads values of peace, tolerance, and cultural dialogue. It featured artistic groups from several Arab and foreign countries, along with an operetta titled “A Message of Tolerance and Peace from the Heart of the City of Resilience to the World.”
The event was attended by senior officials, executive leaders, and public figures, who emphasized the festival’s role in reinforcing Port Said’s position as a hub for cultural and artistic exchange during national celebrations.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh expressed his pleasure in participating, stressing that the festival reflects the honorable cultural image of Port Said and the vital role of the arts in promoting peace and tolerance. He also reaffirmed Port Said University’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives that enhance community awareness and strengthen national identity.
