
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in an educational seminar organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces Command, headed by Major General Osama Abdel Hamid Daoud, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces. The seminar took place at the headquarters of the Coptic Orthodox Church and was hosted by the Papal Headquarters in Cairo.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the risks and challenges facing Egyptian national security and the role of the state in confronting these challenges across various sectors. Attendees included Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; the Governor of Cairo; and several senior commanders of the Armed Forces.
They were warmly received by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, who delivered a welcoming speech and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Armed Forces for their vital role.
Major General Osama Abdel Hamid Daoud delivered a speech conveying the greetings and appreciation of Lieutenant General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. He emphasized the Armed Forces’ commitment to raising societal awareness among the Egyptian people.
Dr. Ghada Amer gave a lecture on cybersecurity and fifth-generation warfare. The seminar also included several awareness-raising topics, a performance of patriotic songs, and an honoring ceremony for families of martyrs, outstanding students, and people with special needs.
Following the event, Professor Sherif Saleh expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Major General Osama Abdel Hamid Daoud, and Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Bebawy, Director of the Military Education Department at Port Said University, for facilitating this valuable visit.
During the seminar, he highlighted the importance of such educational meetings in enhancing national awareness among university students. He also praised the significant role of the Popular and Military Defense Forces in fostering loyalty and belonging, and in educating youth about the challenges facing the nation.
