Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, affirmed that 2026 marks the year of implementation and application of the university’s strategic plan, emphasizing that integration among the university’s three sectors has led to tangible achievements.

This came during his chairmanship of the 217th meeting of the Port Said University Council, held on Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026. At the outset of the meeting, the university president congratulated Prof. Dr. Amani El-Desouki on her reappointment as Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, and extended his congratulations to the newly appointed sector supervisors.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh praised the fruitful cooperation between Port Said University and the Port Said Governorate, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, as a key partner supporting the university’s progress. He also thanked Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed, a member of the University Council, for his continuous support and positive contribution to strengthening the educational system.

He further highlighted the constructive cooperation between Port Said University and East Port Said Private University, noting that this collaboration serves students’ interests and enhances the quality of the educational process. The university president reiterated that 2026 is a practical and executive year for implementing the university’s strategic plan, in alignment with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through a unified vision and active participation of all sectors.

In this context, the PSU President commended the cooperation among the health sector faculties—Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing—which has positively impacted the performance of Port Said University Hospital, enabling it to provide advanced medical services to the residents of the governorate.

Prof. Dr. Asmaa Nabil, Executive Director of the University Hospital, reviewed the major qualitative developments witnessed by the hospital, affirming its readiness to accommodate various contracts, supported by distinguished medical staff and advanced equipment.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Hanafy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, presented a vision for developing the faculty in line with community needs and labor market requirements, as part of preparations to establish a comprehensive medical city based on outstanding educational programs and highly qualified graduates.

The university president expressed his sincere appreciation to the International Rankings Team, led by Dr. Saleh Zormbeh, as well as all faculty teams, for their efforts that contributed to achieving advanced positions for the university in international rankings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, and on behalf of Dr. Heba Saleh, Head of the Information Technology Institute, Prof. Dr. Heba Abdel-Aty, Director of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and Creativa Center – Port Said, presented a token of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh in recognition of his continuous support for initiatives aimed at empowering and qualifying young talents in accordance with labor market needs.

Regarding council resolutions, the University Council approved the awarding of 13 Master’s degrees and 9 Doctoral degrees, in addition to discussing the meeting agenda and taking the necessary decisions.
