Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, signed a faculty and student exchange agreement with Prof. Dr. Piet Hoebeke, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ghent University, during his visit to Belgium.
The agreement provides for the annual exchange of faculty members and five medical students from each university, supporting clinical training, exposure to modern medical practices, and the exchange of academic and scientific expertise.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Chris Monten, Prof. Dr. Annelies Verdoolaege, Prof. Dr. Elizaveta Padalko, Ms. Nele Mahieu, Ms. Elien Rottiers, and Ms. Cindy De Muynck, alongside Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Anwar, Advisor to the President of Port Said University for International Relations.
The visit also included tours of Ghent University Hospital’s Radiotherapy Unit, the Core Zebrafish Facility, and the Aquaculture Lab, highlighting advanced medical and research capabilities.
The two sides also reached an agreement in principle to explore joint research activities and events, opening new horizons for broader medical, scientific, and research cooperation.
