In a new step toward expanding its international academic and research partnerships, Port Said University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), one of India’s prestigious national institutes, to strengthen academic and research cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise.
The MoU was signed during a visit by a Port Said University delegation to IIT Gandhinagar, where Prof. Rajat Moona, Director of IIT Gandhinagar, welcomed the delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University. The meeting was attended by institute leadership and faculty members, as well as representatives of the Cultural and Educational Affairs Office of the Egyptian Embassy in New Delhi.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh highlighted the partnership’s role in opening new avenues for scientific and academic collaboration and creating greater opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers. Prof. Rajat Moona welcomed the partnership and highlighted opportunities to benefit from IIT Gandhinagar’s expertise and academic programs, including Marine Engineering.
The MoU covers student, faculty, and researcher exchange; training and applied research; joint research projects; academic program and curriculum development; potential dual-degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels; and joint conferences, workshops, and scientific events.
The two sides also discussed promising research areas, including engineering, biological sciences, science and technology, and the humanities, paving the way for joint scientific projects with international impact.
