Port Said University Showcases Major Educational, Sports, and Medical Development During High-Level Inspection Tour

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, welcomed Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Gawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Port Said, during an extensive inspection tour of the university’s educational, sports, and medical projects, attended by members of the House of Representatives and Senate from Port Said. The tour began at the Faculty of Sports Sciences in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Qader, where the delegation inspected the Olympic-standard swimming and diving complex, indoor sports hall, combat sports facilities, team sports halls, and Olympic gymnastics hall. The Minister of Youth and Sports praised the advanced sports infrastructure, describing it as a distinguished model for investment in sports facilities and youth development in Egypt. At the Faculty of Engineering, the delegation reviewed the Ports and Coastal Protection Laboratory project in the presence of Prof. Dr. Taha Farag. The laboratory is expected to play a significant role in coastal and port engineering research, climate change studies, and engineering simulations supporting beach protection and coastal development efforts. The visit concluded at Port Said University Hospital, attended by Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Hanafy and Prof. Dr. Asmaa Nabil, where the delegation toured the intensive care units, neonatal units, catheterization units, operating rooms, dialysis unit, radiology department, medical laboratories, and physiotherapy department. The Minister of Planning commended the advanced medical equipment and the university’s continuous efforts to provide high-quality healthcare and educational services. The ministers and the Governor of Port Said emphasized the importance of completing ongoing projects and maximizing the impact of investments while applying modern monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure efficiency and quality. They praised Port Said University as a leading model of integrated development in education, healthcare, and sports infrastructure. Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh affirmed that the university continues its comprehensive development strategy in alignment with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development and the advancement of higher education.
