Huawei Academy
In the frame of the mutual cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei resulted the issuance of the ministerial Resolution No. 5367 on 11-27-2018 to form a committee to follow up the training program of Huawei to train Egyptian university students and link it to the requirements of the labor market in the field of communications and information technology. Huawei offered a protocol to establish a Huawei Academy at Port Said University in order to train and develop the skills of students and graduates of Port Said University. Huawei aims to develop talents of local youth in Egypt, continuously build talents in the field of Information and Communication Technology in Egypt, and build the regional competitiveness of young ICT talent in Egypt through a program to join ITB (ICT Talent Bank).
A cooperation agreement was concluded between the university and the academy, which was legally reviewed, and the legal affairs approved the safety of the items. The main objectives of the protocol include:
1. Free training to the staff to prepare them for the establishment of the academy at the university, organizing professional lecturers, granting them international certificates documented by Huawei, and the expenses of the international training and examination entirely on the company.
2. Free scholarships for students and free exams for students who excel in courses, accredited certificates, and providing job opportunities for students who excel in exam results.
3. Competitions in the field of information and communication technology and building the competitiveness of young talents.
The main aim of the academy is to have a center of excellence based in the Faculty of Engineering at Port Said University to train university students and graduates on new technologies such as Fifth Generation, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Network Protection, in order to develop skills and prepare young people capable of keeping pace with the digital transformation of Port Said Governorate and reaching the greater goal and turning Egypt into the hub of talented Digital Transformation Talent Hub and the realization of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
