Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, the university has witnessed a remarkable transformation in its digital infrastructure and technological systems over the past two years, strengthening its position as a leading model for smart universities.
Key achievements include:
- Infrastructure and Data Center
Facility and Server Upgrades: Comprehensive renovation of the Data Center, including a certified fire suppression system, central cooling (15 HP), and a reinforced steel door, expanding capacity to 38 physical servers and 59 virtual servers to host the official website and 16 newly developed applications.
Network Expansion: Infrastructure overhaul at the Faculty of Engineering (820 network points) and the Al-Arish building, which was converted into a university dormitory (385 points) with barcode system integration. Ongoing network projects are also underway at the Faculties of Arts (217 points) and Law (184 points).
International Visits: The Data Center hosted high-level international visits by Prof. Dr. Saoussen Krichen (Director General of the Al-Khwarizmi Computing Center and Director General of the University Publishing Center in Tunisia) and Prof. Dr. Mario Faubel (CEO of Steinbeis University, Germany).
- Digital Platforms and Applications (16 Applications)
Administrative & Financial Services: My Entitlements (Mostahaqaty) platform, Electronic Payment platform, Technical Support system, and Meeting/Conference Attendance Registration system.
Academic & Student Services: Faculty Member Data platform, Academic Advising system, Student Survey system, Results & Assessment system, Enhanced E-Book platform, and Degree Verification system.
Community, Housing & Research Services: Alumni platform, Dormitory Management system, “Ma’an” (Together) Social Solidarity platform, Training Courses platform, Digital Library system, Scientific Journals platform, and a complete revamp of the official university website.
- Training, E-Learning, and Digital Library
Training & Staff Qualification: Conducting 40 training courses annually for 1,500 trainees (accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities), along with qualifying over 200 administrative and IT personnel.
E-Learning Platform: An integrated platform serving more than 25,000 students across 14 faculties for 5,000 courses, providing 2,500 e-books annually.
Digital Library Services: Citation and similarity checks for 1,526 research papers, 933 theses, and 691 promotion-related research papers. Activating accounts for 1,233 researchers on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, the Egyptian Universities Libraries Consortium (EUL), and Google Scholar, alongside registering 542 thesis titles, and archiving and matching 595 theses (for 2025 and 2026).
- Visual Identity and Digital Marketing
Production of 26 promotional posters and 16 promotional videos for faculties and academic programs.
Documentation of official visits and achievements through 28 videos.
Design of official logos for various university sectors and new applications.
