President of Port Said University: Students’ Interests Are Our Priority… Empowering Young Researchers Is the Foundation of the University’s Future
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, held an extensive meeting with the Arts and Humanities Sector, attended by deans, vice-deans, faculty members, and teaching assistants, to discuss academic, research, and administrative development, empowering young researchers, digital transformation, and international cooperation.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh reviewed progress toward the objectives of the university’s strategic plan, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve institutional performance, enhance administrative efficiency, develop training programs, and maximize the university’s resources.
He emphasized that scientific research is a cornerstone of the university’s vision, with efforts underway to develop a unified research plan aligned with the needs of the labor market and society, while promoting applied research with tangible and measurable impact.
The University President stressed that young researchers are the scientists and professors of the future, underscoring the importance of transferring the expertise of senior professors to young faculty members and teaching assistants, encouraging innovation and creativity, and supporting them in choosing appropriate academic and research pathways.
He reaffirmed that students’ best interests remain at the forefront of the university’s priorities, with development efforts focused on enhancing the quality of education, building students’ capabilities, and preparing them for the future.
The meeting also addressed digital transformation, including leveraging 5G technology, developing electronic systems for research registration and training-related travel requests, and establishing an online platform for receiving and tracking proposals and ideas from university members.
International academic cooperation was also discussed, particularly dual-degree programs, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe, expanding academic and research opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members.
The meeting concluded with an open dialogue, during which Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh listened to the views, suggestions, and inquiries of sector members, emphasizing that direct communication and institutional dialogue are essential to shaping development priorities and making decisions that serve the university, its students, and its educational, research, and community mission.
