The President of Port Said University Launches a Roadmap for Research Projects and Announces the Formation of Research Teams to Support Innovation and Development

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, held an extensive meeting with the heads of the University’s three academic sectors, as well as the International Relations and International Ranking teams, to review ongoing research projects and outline future plans aimed at linking scientific research with development needs and labor market demands.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that the University’s next phase will focus on developing integrated research plans aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, with priority given to applied research projects that address societal challenges and support sustainable development.

The University President also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with international universities and funding agencies to enhance research funding opportunities and implement joint projects. In this context, he directed that a study be conducted on establishing International Relations and Research Consultancy Offices within each academic sector to facilitate communication with global partners and support researchers in obtaining international grants and projects.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh highlighted the need to support outstanding students by leveraging existing international cooperation agreements, involving them in research projects, and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation to transform research ideas into viable projects. He further emphasized strengthening collaboration with industry partners and civil society organizations to ensure that research priorities align with real economic and societal needs.

The meeting concluded with a directive to form research project teams within each academic sector, comprising distinguished young researchers and outstanding students. This initiative aims to enhance Port Said University’s position as a knowledge-producing institution and an active contributor to sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kamel, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; Prof. Dr. Heba Youssef, General Supervisor of the Health Sector; Professor Dr. Mohamed El-Bashlawi, General Supervisor of the Education and Humanities Sector; Dr. Ahmed Sobhi, General Supervisor of the Engineering Sector; Professor Dr. Saleh Zaramba, Director of International Rankings at the University; in addition to the Vice Deans for Graduate Studies and Research from the faculties, and the International Relations and Rankings teams.
