Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, chaired an extensive meeting to review the development of the postgraduate studies and scientific research sector, enhance the University’s performance in international rankings, and strengthen the role of the International Relations Office. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kamel, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and Director of International Relations; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Anwar, Advisor to the University President for International Relations; Prof. Dr. Saleh Zaramba, Director of International Rankings; in addition to the Vice Deans for Postgraduate Studies and Research from the University’s faculties and the supervisors of the University’s three academic sectors.
The meeting reviewed mechanisms to enhance institutional performance indicators, advance postgraduate studies and scientific research, and expand academic and research collaboration with leading international universities and institutions.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among the Engineering Sciences, Basic Sciences, and Medical Sciences sectors to achieve the University’s strategic objectives. He also highlighted the need to activate international cooperation agreements, expand joint research projects, increase publications in prestigious international journals, promote academic exchange, and attract visiting professors to enhance the quality of education and research.
The University President further emphasized maximizing the impact of research projects, establishing a comprehensive database of the University’s research expertise and capabilities, aligning scientific research with national development priorities and labor market needs, and strengthening partnerships with industry and the business community.
During the meeting, he directed the preparation of a modern strategic plan for the postgraduate studies and research sector, the development of integrated research plans for each faculty and academic sector, the establishment of specialized committees for research projects and international grants, and the provision of greater academic and scientific support for young researchers. He affirmed that publishing in high-impact international journals remains a key pillar for enhancing the University’s global standing.
The meeting concluded with Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh affirming that Port Said University possesses the academic and research capabilities needed to achieve further regional and international recognition through a comprehensive strategy built on quality, innovation, and strong international partnerships.
