
Port Said University has achieved a notable advancement in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2026, securing a position in the 101–125 band out of 372 Arab universities. This marks a clear improvement from last year’s 121–140 band out of 351 universities.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of the University, confirmed that this achievement represents the fifth consecutive year of progress in the rankings. He attributed this success to the university’s implementation of the higher education strategy in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, as well as the continuous development of education, scientific research, and technological infrastructure.
He highlighted that the university has increased its output of scientific publications in international journals and introduced advanced academic programs that align with the needs of the labor market. Additionally, the university has strengthened its international collaborations and expanded partnerships with industry.
The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings evaluate institutions based on five key criteria: quality of education, learning environment, research productivity and quality, global research impact, international outlook, and industry impact.
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh extended his congratulations to the university’s ranking team. He expressed appreciation for the contributions of Prof. Dr. Saleh Zarmba and the ranking teams across the postgraduate studies sector, faculties, and research units, urging them to continue their dedicated work to further enhance the university’s standing in future rankings.
