Under the auspice of Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University,
And under the supervision and follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi, Supervisor of Student Affairs and Coordinator of the Students for Egypt Family at the University,
In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Port Said University has officially launched the first activities of the “Save It… Light It Up” initiative, aimed at rationalizing electricity consumption.
The launch took place at the Faculty of Specific Education, featuring awareness campaigns designed to promote a culture of energy conservation among students and encourage responsible electricity use in their daily lives.
The campaign activities were received by Professor Dr. Mona Zeitoun, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Coordinator of the Students for Egypt Family at the Faculty.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to fostering genuine awareness among students about the importance of preserving resources and recognizing their value, in alignment with national efforts to achieve sustainability and optimize energy utilization.
Moreover, the campaign seeks to transform energy-saving concepts from theoretical guidance into practical daily behavior—starting with simple habits and extending its positive impact to the wider community.
The initiative is organized and supervised by the University’s Social Activities Department:
Prof. Ibrahim Al-Nims – Director of the Social Activities Department and Campaign Coordinator
Prof. Azza Othman – Campaign Coordinator
Together, we build a culture of awareness… and together, we safeguard our nation’s resources.
