Research centers at Port Said University

Port Said University has launched the center of excellence in water desalination technology (CEMTC) since 2020 in the Faculty of Engineering. The center was equipped with all advance devices for testing and characterization several types of membranes used in water treatment and testing (such as reverse osmosis and filtration). It is worth noting that the Center of Excellence is not only based on serving society and researchers from various research institutions, but also on serving the industrial community by helping companies and industries to test membranes for water tenement made of polymers as an alternative to thermal desalination (which is based on the use of fuel, which leads to emissions greenhouse gases), which have been used recently in various industries for desalination and water treatment. The Center of Excellence also aims to establish international relations with various universities and research centers in the field of water treatment and desalination.
