Under the presidential of Dr Prof. Ayman Mohamed Ibrahim, Port Said University is nominated for the first time for the Newton Prize with the project (A New Water Desalination Plant Run by Clean Energy). Notably to say, the researchers in the university participated their research among other five British-Egyptian projects. It involves a number of featured professors in different fields. The project is in collaboration between Sheffield University and Port Said University.
