
Port Said University continues to strengthen its international standing. Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of the University, announced the university’s continued inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, placing in the 1401–1600 global bracket out of 2,297 ranked institutions across 118 countries and regions (among a total of 3,146 listed institutions).
The university also achieved notable progress in the THE Subject Rankings, reaching the global 601–800 band for the first time across four academic fields: Medicine & Health, Life Sciences, Engineering, and Physical Sciences. Notably, Medicine & Health and Life Sciences jumped from the 801–1000 band into the 601–800 band.
Performance results highlighted advances across several key indicators:
Research Environment: Increased by approximately 10.7%, rising from 10.3 points in 2026 to 11.4 points in 2027.
International Outlook: Rose from 48.6 to 49.2 points.
Research Quality: Stood out as the university’s highest-performing indicator, scoring 59.9 points.
Among Egyptian universities within the same global ranking band, Port Said University achieved the highest score for Research Quality, tied for the top score in the Industry indicator, and secured the second-highest score for International Outlook.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that these results reflect the university’s dedicated efforts to advance scientific research, elevate educational standards, expand global partnerships, and bridge innovation with community and industrial needs. He added that leveraging international ranking metrics is essential for measuring institutional performance and setting strategic priorities.
