
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in a Regional Health Council meeting chaired by Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, to discuss ways of cooperation between relevant authorities to develop the governorate’s healthcare system.
The meeting discussed the establishment of an integrated oncology centre in cooperation between the university and the governorate, with the aim of supporting healthcare services in Port Said. The efforts of Port Said University Hospital to obtain accreditation and quality assurance in accordance with national standards were also reviewed, presented by Dr. Sally Insi, Director of the Accreditation and Healthcare Supervision Branch.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that the university prioritizes the development of the healthcare sector and works to harness its medical and academic capabilities to serve the community. He praised the Governor of Port Said’s continued support for the development of healthcare services.
The meeting was attended by a number of executive and health leaders, including Dr. Amr Othman, Deputy Governor, Major General Amr Fikry, Secretary General, Dr. Helmy El-Afny, Head of the Doctors Syndicate, Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Director of the Health Care Authority, Dr. Ihab El-Hanfy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Asmaa Nabil, Executive Director of the University Hospital, Dr. Walid Abdel Maqsoud, Director of the Health Affairs Directorate, Dr. Mohamed El-Sebaei, Director of Comprehensive Health Insurance, and Dr. Nisreen Hassan, Advisor to the Authority.
