Port Said University concluded the First International Festival of Physical Theater with a spectacular closing ceremony held under the auspice and in the presence of Prof. Sherif Saleh, President of the University. The festival brought together artistic troupes from several Arab and international countries, reaffirming the University’s growing role as a platform for cultural dialogue, creativity, and international engagement.
In his remarks, Prof. Sherif Saleh emphasized that the festival reflects the University’s mission of building well-rounded graduates by combining academic excellence, scientific achievement, and student creativity. He stressed that arts and culture are powerful tools for promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding among nations.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Heba Abdel-Aty, President of East Port Said Technological University; Prof. Amal Khalil, Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector; Prof. Mohamed Kamel, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; Ms. Samia El-Mosailhi, Secretary General of the University; Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, Undersecretary of the Port Said Directorate of Youth and Sports, along with deans, vice deans, and university advisors.
The celebration featured a remarkable Pharaonic performance by the Port Said University Physical Theater Team, followed by performances from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, and Palestine, before all participating troupes united in a grand finale celebrating cultural friendship and artistic collaboration.
During the ceremony, the University President honored the Port Said University team, led by Prof. Heba Abdel-Aty, for winning first place as the Best Huawei Academy among Egyptian public universities. He also recognized faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff who earned master’s and doctoral degrees, outstanding secondary school achievers from university families, and all participating international delegations.
The festival’s success was widely praised and reflected the dedicated efforts of Prof. Ahmed Bayoumi El-Shafei, General Supervisor of Student Welfare and Festival Director, together with Mohamed El-Maliki, Festival Director; Mohamed Amr, designer of the Pharaonic performance; Sarah Galal, Head of Artistic Activities; Marwa Sha’noun; and student Jana and her fellow performers.
Concluding the festival, Prof. Sherif Saleh affirmed that the outstanding success of the inaugural edition highlights Port Said University’s growing regional and international standing and its continued commitment to supporting arts, innovation, and academic excellence as essential pillars for building future generations.
