
Port Said University hosted a grand national celebration in conjunction with the National Day of Port Said Governorate, marking the official launch of the “Engaz” project as a qualitative step toward linking educational investment with the academic mission, sustainable development, and human capacity building.
The celebration was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Major General Moheb Habashi Khalil, Governor of Port Said; Major General Mohamed Youssef Assaf, Commander of the Second Field Army; and Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, alongside a distinguished gathering of university presidents, executive, parliamentary, and academic leaders, as well as large numbers of university students.
The event was presented by Assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmed Youssef Ezzat, with the participation of student Amira El-Barlasi (third year, English Department), reflecting a meaningful model of intergenerational partnership within the university community.
The celebration featured official speeches and a documentary film announcing the launch of the “Engaz” project, which represents an advanced model of integration between the university and the labor market. In his remarks, the Minister of Higher Education reaffirmed the state’s full support for developing Egyptian universities and strengthening their research and community roles. The Governor of Port Said emphasized the governorate’s support for the university’s developmental vision, while the University President outlined a forward-looking vision for a modern institution aligned with the identity and spirit of Port Said.
