Port Said University Enhances Educational Quality and Global Academic Partnerships

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, chaired the 223rd regular meeting of the University Council on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the presence of council members, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to advance the educational and research system and strengthen its competitiveness locally and internationally.

At the beginning of the meeting, the University President extended his congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, describing it as a significant national milestone that reflected the will of the Egyptian people and paved the way toward stability and development.

Prof.Dr. Sherif Saleh praised the efforts of academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and university staff during the second semester examinations, commending the discipline and organization witnessed across examination committees.

During the meeting, the council discussed preparations for the upcoming academic year and approved several new academic programs. The University President stressed the importance of implementing effective marketing plans to attract both Egyptian and international students.

The council also approved a number of international agreements with Arab and foreign universities and institutions, alongside plans to attract more visiting professors to support the development of education and scientific research.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh further announced the university’s preparations to establish a specialized center for accrediting academic and training programs, developing advanced training opportunities, and producing scientific and digital content in line with the latest academic standards.

As part of strengthening community engagement, he revealed ongoing preparations for the formation of the Higher Advisory Board of Port Said University, which will include prominent business leaders, industrial experts, and public figures. The board aims to contribute to the university’s strategic planning, connect academic programs with labor market demands, and support innovation and entrepreneurship in cooperation with economic and industrial institutions.

The University President emphasized that the achievements made by the university are the result of teamwork, cooperation, and integration among all university sectors.

Prior to the council session, Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din, President of East Port Said National University, presented the university shield to Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh in recognition of his efforts in supporting academic cooperation and strengthening partnerships between the two universities. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Ehab El-Hanafy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Port Said University, Engineer Mohamed El-Sayed, Chairman of CAPSI International Company, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Sherine El-Khouly, Director of the Medicine and Surgery Program at East Port Said National University.

The council concluded its session by approving the awarding of Master’s degrees to 33 researchers and Doctoral degrees to 9 researchers.
