Port Said University Actively Participates in the Ministry of Defense’s 42nd Cultural Symposium Attended by President El-Sisi

Port Said University, headed by Professor Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of the University, participated in the 42nd Cultural Symposium organized by the Ministry of Defense to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October War victories. The event was attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Saqr, Minister of Defense and Military Production.

The university’s participation took place under the patronage of Professor Sherif Saleh and under the supervision of Colonel Ibrahim Bebawi, Director of the University’s Military Education Department.

Professor Saleh emphasized the university’s commitment to taking part in such significant national events, which foster values of loyalty and belonging to the homeland and strengthen both military and civic awareness among students. He also praised the enthusiasm and active engagement of Port Said University students throughout the symposium’s activities, which addressed vital national and historical topics and highlighted the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces in safeguarding national security and honoring the sacrifices of its heroes.

He added that student participation in such events represents a valuable opportunity to learn about Egypt’s military history and engage with national figures. He further stressed the importance of continued cooperation between universities and the Ministry of Defense to enhance youth awareness and strengthen their connection to Egypt’s proud history.

For his part, Colonel Ibrahim Bebawi stated that the university’s participation reflects the Armed Forces’ commitment to building genuine awareness among Egyptian university students and instilling a strong sense of patriotism and loyalty. He emphasized that such events serve as a cornerstone in shaping students’ national character and protecting them from destructive ideologies.
