
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Governor of Port Said, and President of Port Said University Witness the Launch of the Second Round of the “Egypt Launches with Exports” Initiative
Port Said University hosted the launch of the second round of the “Egypt Launches with Exports” initiative in Port Said Governorate, under the auspice of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Port Said; and Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, alongside representatives of the business community and development partners.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that hosting the initiative reflects the university’s role as a key partner in national development and in supporting the Egyptian economy. He noted that the initiative aligns with Port Said University’s 2032 Vision, which promotes integration among the university, state institutions, and the production and business sectors, while aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs.
The University President stressed that exporting is a shared responsibility requiring an integrated ecosystem involving the state, universities, industry, the private sector, financial institutions, and the business community. He affirmed the university’s commitment to leveraging its scientific, research, and human resources to support the national economy and strengthen Egypt’s competitiveness in global markets.
The event also witnessed the signing of two cooperation protocols. The first was signed between the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and Port Said University. Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the Authority, represented the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, while Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, represented the university. The protocol aims to enhance cooperation in academic and research fields, training, entrepreneurship, and investment.
The second protocol was signed between the Foreign Trade Training Center and the University Center for Career Development at Port Said University. Dr. Mary Kamel, Executive Director of the Foreign Trade Training Center, represented the center, while Dr. Heba Youssef Suleiman, Director of the University Center for Career Development, represented Port Said University. The protocol aims to facilitate the participation of university graduates in training programs funded by the Export Development Fund, particularly the program designed to qualify young graduates and entrepreneurs to enter international markets.
Following the event, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh accompanied the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Governor of Port Said on a tour of the university’s main campus. They reviewed the university’s facilities, resources, and development and modernization projects, and praised the progress achieved, highlighting Port Said University as a modern, forward-looking public university capable of meeting the demands of the future.
The event and the signing of the two cooperation protocols reaffirm Port Said University’s 2032 Vision of building effective partnerships with state institutions and the business sector, empowering youth, promoting entrepreneurship, linking education to the labor market, and contributing to a more competitive Egyptian economy with greater access to global markets.
