Port Said University International Movement Drama Festival continued its second day under the auspice of Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, attracting a large audience and reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting culture, dialogue, and openness to diverse civilizations.
Held at the Port Said Fishing Club Beach, the festival featured captivating performances by artistic troupes from Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Palestine, and Algeria, celebrating the richness of cultural heritage while promoting the values of understanding, coexistence, and peace. The event further strengthened the festival’s role as an international platform for cultural exchange and artistic creativity.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that culture and the arts are among the most powerful instruments of soft power, fostering human development and encouraging tolerance and mutual respect. He noted that the festival reflects the university’s vision of engaging with the world and showcasing Egypt’s rich cultural identity. He stated: “From the land of Egypt, the cradle of civilizations, and from the heroic city of Port Said, we send a message of love and peace to the peoples of the world, affirming that art is a universal language that transcends borders, brings cultures together, and reinforces the values of humanity and peaceful coexistence.” He also affirmed that the festival’s remarkable success highlights Port Said University’s growing cultural and international presence.
The festival is held under the auspice of Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi, Vice President for Student Affairs, serving as Festival Director and General Supervisor. The festival is directed by Mr. Mohamed El-Maliki, with artistic design by Mr. Mohamed Amr.
The second day’s events were attended by Mr. Emad El-Zeiny, Chairman of the Port Said Fishing Club, Mr. Abdel Aziz Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Director of the Port Said Youth and Sports Directorate, along with university leaders, public figures, and members of the community, reaffirming Port Said’s role as a vibrant hub for arts, creativity, and cultural dialogue.
