Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities held at Alexandria University on Friday, October 24, 2025.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamedd Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria; Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council; Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University; along with university presidents.
During the meeting, the Councilhonouredd Dr. Khaled El-Enany on the occasion of his election as Director-General of UNESCO by the organization’s Executive Council.
Minister Ashour emphasized that this achievement represents a significant international milestone for Egypt and a testament to Dr. El-Enany’s distinguished caree reflectsg Egypt’s leading role in education, culture, and heritage preservation.
For his part, Dr. El-Enany expressed his appreciation for the honorary, affirming his commitment to strengthening cooperation between UNESCO and Egyptian universities in the coming period.
University presidents extended their congratulations to Dr. El-Enany, praising his contributions and affirming that his election is a source of pride for Egypt and its higher education institutions.
