Exchange Application
How to Apply as an Exchange Student at Port Said University
In order to come to Port Said University (PSU) as an exchange student, there should be an active bilateral or inter-institutional agreement (such as an Erasmus+ ICM agreement) between your home institution and Port Said University for your specific field of study. In some specific cases, you may obtain admission as an exchange student without a formal institutional agreement—for example, if you are conducting specific laboratory or field research for your thesis, participating in an official summer school, or completing a specific traineeship.
Types of Exchange
Depending on the category of your mobility, different application pathways apply.
- Study Exchange: For students taking academic courses within our faculties (e.g., Engineering, Science, Commerce) for a semester or a full academic year.
- Traineeship / Internship Exchange: For international students completing a practical internship, research attachment, or clinical rotation at PSU labs or affiliated centers.
- Exchange PhD: For doctoral students visiting PSU to conduct specific research or data collection under joint supervision, while remaining enrolled at their home university.
- Short-Term Mobility & Summer Schools: For students participating in specialized programs, such as our International Summer Schools (e.g., Architecture, Marine Systems, or Environmental Sciences) or Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP).

Study Exchange Application
Before starting your application, check with your home coordinator regarding the required framework.
Bilateral Agreements: For institutional partnerships, or self-funded short-term research placements, a standard PSU Learning/Training Agreement format must be submitted alongside your academic transcripts and passport copy.
Enrollment
Official administrative registration begins in August for the upcoming academic year.
For Study Exchanges: Once your application is approved, the International Relations Office will handle your back-office enrollment with the central student affairs. You will receive an official acceptance letter to assist with your Egyptian student visa application.
