
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, received Mr. Yu Miao, Director of the Confucius Institute at Suez Canal University, along with his accompanying delegation of Chinese lecturers, on the occasion of the Chinese Cultural Day organized by the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Arts, Port Said University. The event aimed to strengthen Egyptian–Chinese cultural cooperation and promote openness to global cultures.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Badr Abdel Aziz Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Anwar, Advisor to the University President for International Relations; Dr. Dina Bayoumi, Lecturer in Chinese Literature; and Dr. Radwa Alaa El-Din, Lecturer in Linguistics.
Discussions focused on supporting and developing the Chinese Language Department through the provision of specialized Chinese lecturers, as well as enhancing student and faculty exchange programs between Port Said University and Chinese universities. Both sides also emphasized the importance of holding the Chinese Cultural Day on a regular basis.
During the meeting, the University President extended an invitation to the Director of the Confucius Institute to attend the celebrations of Port Said Governorate’s National Day, and to chair the academic session on Chinese language and literature as part of the Faculty of Arts’ conference on Artificial Intelligence and Contemporary Trends in the Humanities, scheduled for February 2–3.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh presented the Port Said University commemorative medal to Mr. Yu Miao and his accompanying delegation in appreciation of their efforts in supporting academic and cultural cooperation.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Chinese lecturers participated in the Chinese Cultural Day events, organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rady, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs. The events featured a variety of artistic and cultural performances presented by students of the Chinese Language Department in Chinese, reflecting the richness and diversity of Chinese culture and receiving wide acclaim from attendees.
