Port Said University Participates in the Closing Ceremony of the Presidential Initiative “Tamkeen”

Port Said University participated in the closing ceremony of the second edition of the presidential initiative “Tamkeen” (Empowerment), which supports and empowers university students with disabilities. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, members of the Supreme Council of Universities, and a number of university leaders.

The university’s participation reflects the Egyptian state’s commitment to integrating and empowering persons with disabilities within the university community. The event announced several key outcomes, including the organization of an international symposium addressing inclusive design and invisible disabilities, the implementation of the interactive Step Zero educational program, and the launch of training programs for staff working in student welfare departments and disability centers.

During the ceremony, Khaled Ali, a student at the Faculty of Arts, was honored for his outstanding athletic achievement, while student artist Ezzat Mohsen from the Faculty of Specific Education was recognized for his musical performance and honored by the Minister of Higher Education. The Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Disability Affairs and the Director of “Tamkeen” Centers also commended the Disability Center at Port Said University for its distinguished role.

The delegation participated under the supervision of Dr. Rawan Ibrahim.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, affirmed the university’s strong commitment to the state’s vision of supporting and integrating people with disabilities, praising the efforts of the Center for People with Disabilities. He also extended his appreciation to Prof. Mohamed Tamam and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi, Supervisor of the Student Welfare Sector, for their continued support and dedication.
