The Port Said University Council held its 227th periodic meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, chaired by University President Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, to discuss institutional development and the advancement of education and scientific research.
The President congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the success of the Egypt 2026 Forum and commended the university’s architectural, digital transformation, and international rankings teams. He announced the launch of the university’s redesigned international website next week and plans to establish a unified Information Technology Department.
He also emphasized aligning academic programs with labor market needs, strengthening practical partnerships, and expanding field visits to hospitals, factories, and companies. Plans include establishing a central department to oversee and govern scientific journals, forming a Supreme Council for Scientific Journals, and directing research toward practical solutions to societal challenges.
The Council approved master’s degrees for 34 researchers and doctoral degrees for 10 researchers, reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence, digital transformation, and strengthening its local, regional, and international standing.
