PSU President Meets Education Sector Students

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, met with students from the Faculties of Specific Education, Early Childhood Education, Education, and Arts during his inspection tours marking the start of the 2026/2027 academic year.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Rouby, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education; Prof. Dr. Amani El-Desouky, Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education; Prof. Dr. Badr Abdel-Aziz Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; and Prof. Dr. Rihab Abdel-Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Education.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that students are at the heart of the educational process and highlighted the vital role of the education sector in preparing future professionals, educators, scientists, writers, and innovators.

He noted that the university is updating its regulations, systems, and educational programs to meet evolving labor market demands and technological developments, while expanding international partnerships and preparing new programs in cooperation with German and Belgian universities.

He also highlighted the MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), which includes postgraduate programs for Port Said University graduates, opening new opportunities for advanced study and specialization.

The University President urged students to develop their skills alongside their academic studies, stressing the importance of English and German, management and accounting, computer science, and information technology.

He further highlighted the university’s international engagement, including the hosting of 7 Chinese students at the Faculty of Arts to study Arabic, alongside Chinese faculty members teaching at the university. He also announced preparations for the Faculty of Arts’ 2nd International Conference.

The tour was accompanied by Prof. Amal Khalil, Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector; Prof. Mohamed Rizk, Supervisor of the University Housing Sector; Ms. Samia El-Moselhi, University Secretary-General; and Prof. Ahmed Bayoumi, Supervisor of Student Welfare.

Concluding the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh urged students to respect their professors and university traditions and make the most of their academic and human experience, emphasizing that faculty members have a responsibility to contribute to students’ skills, values, culture, and character development.

He concluded by affirming the role of young people in building the nation, safeguarding its resources, and contributing to its continued progress.
