Port Said University Launches Its First Beach Festival for University Scouts

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, inaugurated the university’s first-ever Summer Camp and Beach Festival for Scouts, held on the shores of Port Fouad for the first time, with the participation of approximately 100 students from various faculties.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Samar El-Mawafi, Head of Port Fouad City; Prof. Ahmed Bayoumi El-Shafei, General Supervisor of the Student Welfare Sector; Prof. Magdy Abu Aram, Faculty of Sports Sciences; and university youth welfare officials.

The University President affirmed that the festival reflects the university’s commitment to developing well-rounded graduates by strengthening leadership, creativity, teamwork, and a sense of belonging through student activities. He also highlighted the university’s vision of becoming a hub for national and international student camps, conferences, and events.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh expressed his sincere appreciation to Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Port Said, for his continued support and for allocating a beachfront site in Port Fouad for the university’s summer activities. He also thanked Ms. Samar El-Mawafi and the Port Fouad City Council for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the camp.

During the event, participants toured the scout troops and celebrated World Scout Scarf Day, with the University President and the Head of Port Fouad City wearing scout scarves and joining students for commemorative photos.

The President concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the festival, particularly Prof. Ahmed Bayoumi El-Shafei, festival coordinator; Prof. Mohamed Rizk, General Supervisor of the University Housing Sector; Professor Samia El-Maselhi, University Secretary-General; Engineer Lubna; Engineer Ahmed Shukri; Mr Mohsen Hamdi, General Manager of University Housing; Dr. Reham; Mr Ibrahim El-Nems, Director of the Social Activities Department; Mr Mohamed El-Sawaf, Head of the Scouting Department and Festival Management; and Mr Mohamed Shaaban, Director of the Student Unions Department and the festival’s Financial Officer, recognizing their dedication in delivering an event worthy of Port Said University’s reputation.
