Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, welcomed Dr. Ahmed Naguib, Director of Global Engagement at the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC), in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Kamel, Supervisor of Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the International Relations Office, to explore new opportunities for academic and research collaboration.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding its global partnerships with leading higher education institutions in support of excellence in education, scientific research, and innovation. Discussions focused on potential collaboration with TIEC member universities in key areas including engineering, sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, logistics, marine sciences, energy, and environmental sciences, as well as student and faculty mobility, joint research initiatives, institutional development, and capacity-building programs.
As part of the visit, Dr. Ahmed Naguib toured the University’s administrative headquarters and attended a presentation highlighting Port Said University’s history, strategic vision, academic programs, research centers, international rankings, and growing global engagement.
The program also featured an interactive discussion session chaired by Prof. Mohamed Kamel, with the participation of members of the International Relations Office, academic representatives, and the University’s International Ranking Committee. The session explored strategies for internationalizing higher education, strengthening research partnerships, increasing international scientific publications, and expanding participation in international programs and collaborative projects.
Dr. Ahmed Naguib praised the University’s remarkable institutional and academic development and reaffirmed TIEC’s commitment to building sustainable partnerships with Egyptian universities that foster mutual growth and long-term academic cooperation.
Both parties agreed to continue close coordination in the coming months to develop a joint action plan that will lead to the launch of collaborative initiatives and programs with TIEC’s member universities across the United States.
The visit concluded with tours of the Faculty of Engineering, the Studio of the Faculty Specific Education, the Faculty Medicine, and the University Hospital, where Dr. Ahmed Naguib explored the University’s advanced educational, research, and technical facilities that support high-quality teaching, scientific research, and student training.
