Under the auspice and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, and with the honor of Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Port Said, the Faculty of Pharmacy celebrated the graduation of its eighth class in a distinguished ceremony attended by members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, the presidents of East Port Said National University and East Port Said Technological University, the Head of Port Said Pharmacists Syndicate, senior health sector officials, the university’s vice presidents, deans and vice deans, Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed, the University’s General Supervisor of the Health Sector, the University Secretary-General, faculty members, teaching assistants, and the graduates’ families.
The ceremony commenced with the graduates’ procession, followed by the Egyptian national anthem, a recitation from the Holy Quran, and a documentary highlighting the history and development of Port Said Governorate. Student Yara Ehab Anis delivered the graduates’ speech, expressing heartfelt appreciation to the University President, the Faculty administration, faculty members, and parents for their unwavering support.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Amjad Mansour, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, welcomed the distinguished guests and extended his appreciation to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Qader, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, for his support in organizing the ceremony. He congratulated the graduates and their families, emphasizing that pharmacy is a noble humanitarian profession founded on integrity, dedication, and service to society.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh stressed that the University was not simply celebrating a new graduating class, but presenting Egypt with a generation equipped with knowledge, scientific excellence, and modern professional skills capable of contributing to sustainable development and the building of the New Republic. He reaffirmed that investing in people remains the University’s greatest priority.
The University President also highlighted that this year’s ceremony celebrated the graduation of the second PharmD cohort and the first cohort of the PharmD Clinical Pharmacy Program. He noted that the graduating class comprised 126 graduates, including 19 graduates from the Clinical Pharmacy Program, reflecting the Faculty’s continuous academic development and alignment with international educational standards.
He further reaffirmed Port Said University’s commitment to providing an advanced educational environment that integrates academic excellence, practical training, scientific research, and student engagement to prepare graduates capable of innovation, leadership, and meaningful community service.
The celebration featured cultural performances by folk and folklore groups from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, and Palestine, alongside the Egyptian Folklore Troupe, under the general supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi, General Supervisor of the General Administration for Student Welfare, with artistic direction by Prof. Mohamed El-Maliki and choreography by Prof. Mohamed Amr. Student Jana El-Husseini concluded the ceremony with a musical performance.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of graduation shields to the graduates, followed by the recitation of the professional oath, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their careers dedicated to serving society and the nation.
