Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, received Prof. Dr. Sabit Subašić, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Egypt, to discuss prospects for strengthening academic and research cooperation between Port Said University and Bosnian universities.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh affirmed the university’s commitment to expanding international partnerships and enhancing the exchange of scientific expertise, emphasizing that global academic cooperation is a key pillar in advancing higher education and scientific research.
The Ambassador praised Port Said University as a distinguished model in academic, administrative, and infrastructure development, noting that his academic background enabled him to fully appreciate the university’s remarkable achievements and advanced research capabilities.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kamel, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, and Dr. Ahmed Hassan Anwar, Advisor to the University President for International Relations. The Ambassador also toured the university’s Central Administration Building and reviewed its modern facilities and advanced resources.
The Ambassador expressed the strong interest of Bosnian universities in establishing partnerships with Port Said University, revealing that he had already communicated with several university presidents in Bosnia and Herzegovina, many of whom showed great interest after reviewing the university’s international profile and achievements. He further announced that the President of the University of Tuzla had sent a preliminary draft agreement for future academic cooperation.
The visit also included an extensive meeting with the university’s vice presidents, deans, and members of the international cooperation team, moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kamel. Discussions highlighted the historic ties between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina and explored opportunities for sustainable academic and scientific collaboration.
At the conclusion of the visit, the International Relations Team presented an overview of the university’s global rankings and international partnerships. Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh then presented the Ambassador with the Port Said University shield in appreciation of his visit and as a symbol of the promising scientific cooperation between both sides.
