University Council Meeting 222

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, chaired the 222nd regular meeting of the University Council on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the presence of council members, affirming the university’s continued progress in institutional development and academic excellence through teamwork, transparency, justice, and good governance.

At the beginning of the meeting, the University President extended his congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Port Said University community on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, wishing Egypt continued security, stability, and prosperity. He also congratulated the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Egypt’s renewed presidency of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) for a new term.

During the session, the President stressed the importance of strict follow-up of end-of-year examinations, full adherence to examination regulations, and providing an appropriate environment for students. He emphasized the need to ensure the readiness of examination committees and medical units, maintain discipline inside examination halls, prevent cheating, and comply with the standards of the Measurement and Evaluation Center.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh also praised the distinguished efforts of the medical sector at Port Said University Hospital and its recent achievements in performing advanced and complex surgeries, reflecting the continuous development of healthcare services at the university hospital.

The President further highlighted the importance of the training programs organized by the Faculty Development Center in enhancing leadership skills and raising awareness of the university’s strategic plan, noting that the university is moving toward expanding such programs for academic and administrative leaders.

He also expressed appreciation to the university’s ranking, quality assurance, and government excellence teams for their dedicated efforts, which contributed to achieving advanced positions in local and international rankings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the University Council approved the awarding of master’s degrees to 16 researchers and doctoral degrees to 1 researcher.
