Strengthening University–Industry Cooperation: Port Said University Visits Suez Canal Container Terminal

Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, led an official delegation on a visit to Suez Canal Container Terminal Company, as part of the university’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with major industrial institutions and activate the joint cooperation protocol between the two sides.

The delegation was received by Mr. Kjeld Christensen, CEO of the company, Mr. Mohamed Khattab, Director of Government and Public Relations, along with several company leaders. The visit aimed to initiate the implementation of the cooperation protocol to support training and labor market qualification programs, and to expand training and employment opportunities for Port Said University students and graduates.

During the meeting between the university president and the company’s CEO, mechanisms of cooperation in training and professional development were discussed, contributing to the preparation of highly qualified graduates who meet the requirements of modern industry. The university delegation also attended a presentation highlighting the company’s development, global achievements, operational systems, and services.

The visit included a tour of key departments at the port, including the Public and Government Relations Department, Occupational Safety and Health Department, Training and Development Department, Engineering Department, and Operations Department. Prof. Dr Sherif Saleh reaffirmed the university’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with leading business institutions through the University Career Development Center and the Training Unit, headed by Prof. Dr. Heba Youssef Suleiman.

Mr. Kjeld Christensen welcomed the cooperation with Port Said University, praising its active role in supporting development and preparing qualified professionals in line with international industry standards.

At the conclusion of the visit, the CEO presented Prof. Dr Sherif Saleh with the Suez Canal Container Terminal Company shield, in appreciation of his efforts to link education with the labor market.
