Closing Ceremony of the Second Edition of the Presidential Initiative for People with Disabilities (Tamkeen)

Port Said University participated in the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Presidential Initiative for People with Disabilities (Tamkeen), in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and the Supreme Council of Universities, and under the auspice of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, the Governor of Luxor, several presidents of Egyptian universities, directors of centers for people with disabilities, center officials, and outstanding students from various Egyptian universities, within the framework of the state’s comprehensive strategy for human development and empowering students with disabilities.

The ceremony included a range of scientific and educational activities and outcomes, including:

Organizing a scientific symposium with the participation of a select group of local and international experts and academics to discuss the latest trends in the field of inclusive design, including addressing invisible disabilities and the role of scientific research in supporting inclusion.

Implementing the Step Zero educational and interactive program, which connects learning with practical reality and promotes self-awareness and teamwork.

Training programs for staff at youth centers and centers for people with disabilities, aimed at building institutional capacity. A number of outstanding students from Port Said University were honored, including:

Khaled Ali, a student from the Faculty of Arts, for his outstanding athletic achievement.

Ezzat Mohsen, a student from the Faculty of Specific Education, who performed during the ceremony and received an award from the Minister of Higher Education.

The Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for People with Disabilities and Director of the Empowerment Centers for Egyptian Universities also commended the Center for People with Disabilities at Port Said University for its active role in supporting students and creating an inclusive academic environment.
