Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in the Egyptian-French Day for Academic and Scientific Cooperation, held at CY Cergy University in Paris, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with a delegation from the Ministry.
The event was organized by the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector and the Egyptian Cultural Office in Paris, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities and in partnership with the French Embassy.
The participation came within the framework of following up on the implementation of the university cooperation agreements signed between Egypt and France during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt in April 2015, which resulted in the signing of 42 cooperation agreements between 13 Egyptian universities and 23 French universities, now officially in force.
This event represents the second follow-up meeting, following the initial meeting held in Cairo last October, reflecting the continued momentum of academic and research cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, along with a number of Egyptian and French university presidents. The program included working sessions and panel discussions aimed at strengthening academic partnerships and expanding cooperation in higher education and scientific research.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh emphasized that this participation underscores the strong commitment to implementing the signed agreements and achieving mutual benefit for both Egypt and France, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour and the collaborative efforts of the Ministry, the Supreme Council of Universities, and Egyptian university leaders.
