
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, inaugurated the First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Arts, entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Modern Trends in the Humanities.” He emphasized that artificial intelligence has become a key partner in advancing humanities research and in shaping contemporary awareness capable of engaging with digital transformation.
The conference was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Badr Abdel Aziz Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Saber and Prof. Dr. Dina El-Brins Adel, and in the presence of university leaders and faculty members.
The event featured distinguished international participation, including Professor Annelies Effack (Ghent University, Belgium), Professor Monie Alali (University of Piedmont Orientale, Italy), Professor Mohamed Khaled Brandales (University of Padua, Italy), Professor Sinan Aldin Tatarević (University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Professor Wang Xiaohai, Dean of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University.
The conference was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Kahlawy, representative of the Association of Arab Universities, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Hammad, along with participants from several Egyptian universities.
Discussions focused on the application of artificial intelligence across various humanities disciplines, addressing opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations related to digital transformation. The conference concluded with the presentation of the Conference Shield to participating scholars in recognition of their academic contributions.
