
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, announced that the university has achieved a new academic milestone by attaining advanced positions both nationally and globally in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026, reflecting the success of the university’s strategic vision for advancing education and scientific research.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh stated that Port Said University was ranked in four major scientific disciplines, achieving the following results:
3rd place nationally in Engineering Sciences, within the global ranking band (601–800)
3rd place nationally in Physical Sciences, within the global ranking band (601–800)
4th place nationally in Life Sciences, within the global ranking band (601–800)
4th place nationally in Medical and Health Sciences, within the global ranking band (601–800)
He emphasized that this progress is the outcome of an ambitious strategy focused on supporting international publishing, promoting innovative scientific research, and fostering a competitive research environment. He noted that the university’s first-time appearance in Life Sciences, coupled with achieving a high ranking, highlights Port Said University’s growing international research presence.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh added that the Times Higher Education Rankings, which are based on 18 performance indicators across five key areas—teaching, research quality, citation impact, international outlook, and industry engagement—serve as a key global benchmark for students, funding institutions, and employers, further enhancing the university’s academic reputation worldwide.
In this context, Dr. Saleh Zoromba, Director of the Digital Library and Scientific Publishing, stated that this achievement is the result of cultivating a culture of interdisciplinary research and collaborative research schools across various academic sectors. He expressed his aspirations the coming year will witness even greater achievements in both research output and global rankings.
