Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, chaired the regular meeting of the University Council (Session No. 216) on Monday, December 29, 2025.
During the meeting, he praised the dedicated efforts of the university’s teams, whose commitment contributed to the successful hosting of the Supreme Council of Universities meeting. He emphasized that this achievement reflects a full year of institutional work and strategic planning, which resulted in the implementation of several major strategic projects.
The University President welcomed the Council members and extended his appreciation to Engineer Mohamed El-Sayed, a Council member, for his continued support. He also conveyed his congratulations on the approaching New Year 2026 and extended warm wishes to the Coptic community on the occasion of Christmas.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh expressed his pride in the university’s success in hosting the Supreme Council of Universities meeting, which coincided with the inauguration of several major projects and the launch of “Engaz” Company, as part of Port Said Governorate’s National Day celebrations. The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said; Prof. Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities; and the presidents of public universities.
He affirmed that the university’s distinguished performance is the outcome of a year of continuous and collaborative effort, noting that Port Said University has exceeded the targets of its strategic plan. This progress has led to increased cooperation with major institutions and entities. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, for his ongoing support of the university.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University Council approved the awarding of master’s degrees to 14 researchers and doctoral degrees to 10 researchers, in addition to discussing the agenda of the meeting.
