Friday prayers were held at the Abbasy Masjed in Port Said with the attendance of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, as part of the celebrations marking Port Said National Day.
The prayers were also attended by Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Religious Endowments; Prof. Dr. Nazir Ayad, Grand Mufti of Egypt; Major General Mohamed Assaf, Commander of the Second Field Army; Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Vice Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority; a number of former governors; and Dr. Amr Othman, Deputy Governor of Port Said, during an official visit to the governorate.
Holding Friday prayers as part of this national celebration affirms the integration between the educational mission and the enlightening role of academic institutions, highlighting their commitment to raising awareness and contributing to the development of a balanced national character in service of the nation’s present and future.
