Supporting Students with Disabilities

The Capable Differently Office at Port Said University, in cooperation with the Special Education Department of the Port Said Governorate Education Directorate, organized an open dialogue to discuss issues of common interest with parents and students about the coordination mechanisms and benefits offered to our children with disabilities to enroll at Port Said University. The dialogue also discussed the challenges they may face and proposed appropriate solutions to overcome them. The meeting was held under the auspice of:

  • Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University
  • Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi, General Supervisor of the Student Care and Student Activities Sector at Port Said University
  • Prof. Taher El-Gharbawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Port Said Governorate

And was kindly hosted by:

  • Prof. Dr. Rehab Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Port Said University

This was held under the supervision of:

  • Captain Mohamed Tamam, Director of the Office for People with Disabilities (Able Differently) at Port Said University
  • Prof. Abeer Hosni, Director of the Special Education Department at the Education Directorate
  • Prof. Abdel Rahman Farag, Director of Youth Care at the Faculty of Education
  • The meeting was attended by a select group of university and education leaders, including:
  • Prof. Dr. Naglaa Hawas, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education
  • Prof. Dr. Abdel Sabour, Founder of the Special Education Department at the Faculty of Education
  • Prof. Mohamed Ragab, Director of the Integration Department
  • Prof. Mohamed El-Maz, Director of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Education

This dialogue comes within the framework of Port Said University’s commitment to providing full support to its children with disabilities and providing an inclusive educational environment that allows them equal opportunities in university education, in line with the state’s orientations to support and empower this group.
