
Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University, and Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, inaugurated the pilot opening of Port Said University Hospital, attended by members of the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as the governorate’s executive and popular leadership. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Ihab El-Hanafi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Hospital’s Board of Directors, and Dr. Asmaa Nabil, Executive Director of the Hospital. The University President accompanied the Governor and the guests on an inspection tour of the hospital, which included 28 outpatient clinics, the radiology department equipped with the latest CT and MRI scanners, the 10-bed intensive care units (ICUs), the operating suite, incubators, cardiac catheterization unit, and the hospital’s main conference hall. Prof. Dr. Ihab El-Hanafy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Asmaa Nabil, Executive Director of the University Hospital, delivered speeches welcoming the University President and the Governor for honoring the pilot opening of this major medical event. They praised the tremendous support provided by the university and governorate leadership and thanked all the staff at the University Hospital from its inception to date. In his speech, the University President extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for the significant successes witnessed by the higher education system and the support and follow-up of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He also thanked the Governor of Port Said for his continuous support. At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the University President thanked everyone who contributed to the completion of this tremendous project, emphasizing that the university is moving forward with confident steps towards further projects and successes to serve Port Said and its people.
