Join students from around the world on a two-week scientific expedition across Egypt’s deserts, wetlands, mountains, and oases. This hands-on summer school is designed for international students in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, and related fields who are eager to explore one of the world’s oldest and most diverse ecological landscapes.

Your learning journey will take you across 10+ regions in Egypt, with a rich blend of ecological fieldwork, community collaboration, and cultural exploration:
Port Said
Introduction to Egypt’s ecological zones, desert and wetland ecology, climate change impacts, conservation strategies, and field prep.
Ismailia
Biodiversity fieldwork at Lake Timsah and academic exchange at Suez Canal University.
Cairo & Giza
Exploration of desert wadi ecosystems and ancient ecological symbolism at the Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum.
Al Fayoum
Study of desert lakes and sustainable ecotourism at Wadi El Rayan and Lake Qarun.
Suez
Field research in Ataqa Mountain and visit to Galala University.
Red Sea Region
Fieldwork in Hurghada and Safaga Mangrove forests, exploring coastal conservation efforts.
Qena & Luxor
University collaboration and visits to Karnak Temple, Dendera Temple, and the Valley of the Kings for ecological symbolism.
Aswan
Nile Island ecosystems, botanical gardens, and cultural heritage exploration.
